(Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit)
Legislation
§ 37-15-38 A local school board, the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning, and the State Board for Community Colleges shall establish a dual enrollment system under which students in the school district who meet the prescribed criteria of this section may be enrolled in a postsecondary institution in Mississippi while they are still in school.
Academic Eligibility Criteria for Participation in Mississippi's Dual Enrollment System
- Be classified as a junior or higher and
- Have a minimum overall high school GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and
- Obtain an unconditional written recommendation from his/her high school counselor, principal
OR
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale on all high school courses and
- Minimum composite ACT score of 30 or the equivalent SAT score and
- Written recommendation from school principal or guidance counselor
