The IHL Board of Trustees is remembering the life and career of Dr. Kent Wyatt, who served as president of Delta State University for 24 years. Trustee Dr. Steven Cunningham, president of the Board of Trustees, noted Wyatt’s impact on Delta State and higher education in Mississippi.
“Dr. Kent Wyatt’s career at Delta State began when he was a child and his father was the head football coach,” Cunningham said. “As a student at Delta State, and then as a professor and later president at the university, his connection to Delta State and the Cleveland community was strong and deeply ingrained. His record of leadership at the university and throughout the state will stand as an example for others to admire and follow. Our thoughts and sympathies are with his family as we celebrate his life.”
