Bruce Martin, Vice President

Mr. Bruce Martin was appointed to the Board by Governor Phil Bryant in May 2018 to represent the First (Central) Supreme Court District for a term to expire May 7, 2027.

Mr. Martin is a Lauderdale County native. He is actively involved in his local community as well as the affairs of the state.

He began his career with Meyer & Rosenbaum, Inc. in 1977, as an insurance agent after graduating from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance & Insurance. In 1985, Martin became a partner and co-owner with the agency.

In 2005, Martin became president/sole owner of Meyer & Rosenbaum, Inc., a leading insurance agency in the state. Some honors he has received in this role consist of "Top 40 under 40" by Mississippi Business Journal, and Outstanding Man of the Year by the Human Relations Commission of the Council of Governments.

Martin is dedicated to serving his community and state. He served on the Mississippi Community College Board for twelve (12) years prior to his service on the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning. Over the past years, he has also served on various boards such as Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame Board, EDNET Board, Bulldog Club Board and Bully Bloc, as well as various industry and community boards.

In addition to his service to the community, Martin is very active in his church. He is a member of the Episcopal Church of the Mediator. Martin has also been involved with numerous projects, such as restoration of the MSU Riley Center, historic Weidman's Restaurant restoration and revival, Hope Village for Children, Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Center and the Mississippi Children's Museum.

Bruce and his wife, Julie, live in the Meridian area and they are very passionate about local efforts to assist underprivileged children, known as The Meridian Freedom Project.

The Martins have three children and one grandchild.
