BOARD OF TRUSTEES TO MEET APRIL 19

The Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning will hold its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, April 19, 2012, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Members of the Board may participate in the meeting via teleconference. The Board and public may attend the meeting in the IHL Board Room, located in the Universities Center, 3825 Ridgewood Road, Jackson, MS 39211. As part of the Board’s agenda, it will consider amendments to the following policies and bylaws: 102.06 Diversity Statement, 1103 Requests for Legal Opinions, 1104 Reporting Felonies, 201.0506 Political Activity, 201.0508 Political Action Committees, 301.03 Board Committees, 301.0510 Meeting Rules of Order, 301.0705 Commissioner Assessment/Evaluation, 705.0103 Travel Abroad, and 603 Innovative and Alternate Delivery Methods of Facilities Construction.

An Executive Session may be held in accordance with the Open Meetings Act. The Board meeting will be available for real-time viewing via live webcast on the IHL Web site, www.mississippi.edu.

The Finance Committee, a standing committee of the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning chaired by Trustee Aubrey Patterson, will meet on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. to discuss board finance issues to be taken up at the monthly meeting the following day. Members of the Board may participate in the committee meeting via teleconference. The public may attend the meeting in the IHL Board Room, located in the Universities Center, 3825 Ridgewood Road, Jackson, MS 39211.

The Mississippi Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning governs the public universities in Mississippi, including Alcorn State University; Delta State University; Jackson State University; Mississippi State University including the Mississippi State University Division of Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine; Mississippi University for Women; Mississippi Valley State University; the University of Mississippi including the University of Mississippi Medical Center; and the University of Southern Mississippi.
