WHAT:                       Mississippi Blue Ribbon Committee for the Redesign of Teacher Preparation (BRC) Town Hall Meeting

WHEN:                       Thursday, August 30, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

WHERE:                     Mississippi State University Riley Center, 2200 5th Street, Meridian, MS

WHY:                          The BRC was convened in November 2006 to increase the quality and quantity of teachers in Mississippi by improving teacher preparation and recruitment programs in the state.  After extensive research and evaluation, the BRC has identified a number of recommended changes to Mississippi’s teacher education programs. Since July, the BRC has held Town Hall Meetings across the state to share information and solicit feedback regarding its preliminary recommendations.  Tonight is the BRC’s final Town Hall Meeting.
