BOARD OF TRUSTEES TO HOLD VIRTUAL INFORMATIONAL SESSIONS

Members of the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning will hear from the Jackson State University campus community in virtual informational sessions on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, before initiating a search process. Discussions will center on the path forward in selecting permanent leadership for the university.

Each session focuses on a specific constituency group and will be held via an online meeting platform. Participants will be selected by the campus leaders of each constituency group. The sessions will be webcast on mississippi.edu. Those not participating in the virtual informational sessions who would like to submit comments to the Board may use an online form.

Schedule for Virtual Informational Sessions

  • 1:00 p.m.: Students
  • 2:00 p.m.: Staff & Administration
  • 3:00 p.m.: Faculty
  • 4:00 p.m.: Alumni & Community

"Due to restrictions on large gatherings due to the coronavirus pandemic, the informational sessions will utilize technology to help bring the Trustees and members of the campus community together virtually," said Dr. Alfred Rankins Jr., Commissioner of Higher Education. "We are committed to identifying the best individual to lead Jackson State and hope all members of the campus community will use the online comment form to let us know their thoughts on the path forward in selecting permanent leadership for the university."
