BOARD OF TRUSTEES TO MEET NEXT WEEK

The Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning will hold its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, June 20, 2019, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Members of the Board may participate in the meeting via teleconference. Members of the public and media may attend the meeting in the IHL Board Room, located in the Universities Center, 3825 Ridgewood Road, Jackson, Miss. 39211. An Executive Session may be held in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.

The Finance Committee, a standing committee of the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning chaired by Trustee Tom Duff, will meet on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. to discuss university finance issues. Members of the Board may participate in the meeting via teleconference. Members of the public and media may attend the meeting in the Vice Chancellor’s Large Conference Room, Verner Holmes Learning Resource Center building, University of Mississippi Medical Center, 2500 North State Street, Jackson, Miss. 39216. An Executive Session may be held in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.

The Health Affairs Committee, a standing committee of the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning chaired by Trustee Walt Starr, will meet on Wednesday, June 29, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. to discuss University of Mississippi Medical Center projects and priorities. Members of the Board may participate in the meeting via teleconference. Members of the public and media may attend the meeting in the Vice Chancellor’s Large Conference Room, Verner Holmes Learning Resource Center building, University of Mississippi Medical Center, 2500 North State Street, Jackson, Miss. 39216. An Executive Session may be held in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.

Members of the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning will hear from the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) campus community in Campus Listening Sessions on Wednesday, June 19, beginning at 2:00 p.m. The discussions will center on the qualities and qualifications stakeholders believe the next chancellor should possess.

The Listening Sessions will be held in Room R153 in the Research Wing on the campus located at 2500 North State Street in Jackson. Visitors should park in Visitor Lot D (21) or Parking Garage A. A map from parking to the venue is posted online. While all sessions are open to the public, each session focuses on the needs of a specific constituency group.
