Award Process and Timeline

January 1: Application for new Aid Year becomes available
January - February: MOSFA receives/processes grade files for fall semester from institutions and enrollment files for spring semester from institutions.
January 1 - March 1: Applications accepted for Nissan
January 1 - March 31: Applications accepted for HELP
January 1 - April 30: Supporting documents accepted for HELP
January 1 - September 15: Applications accepted for MTAG and MESG
January 1 - October 15: Supporting documents accepted for MTAG and MESG
January - May: Spring awards sent to institution. (Note: MOSFA must have fall grade files and spring enrollment verification before money can be requested for student. )
March or April (most years): Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid receives annual appropriation from Mississippi Legislature and sets program budgets
May - June: Award notifications sent for HELP.
May - October: Award notifications sent for MTAG and MESG as student completes application process.
June - August: MOSFA receives/processes grade files for spring semester from institutions.
September: Institutions verify student enrollment for fall
September - December: Fall awards sent to institution. (NOTE: MOSFA must have complete student application and enrollment verification from institution before money can be requested for student. After money is requested, disbursement to institution may take up to 21 days during peak request times).

January 1 - July 31: PRAXIS scores accepted for William Winter and Critical Needs loan/scholarship applicants; letters of acceptance for all loan/scholarship programs accepted
January - February: MOSFA receives/processes grade files for fall semester from institutions and enrollment files for spring semester from institutions.
January - May: Spring awards sent to institution. (Note: MOSFA must have fall grade files and spring enrollment verification before money can be requested for student. )
March or April (most years): Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid receives annual appropriation from Mississippi Legislature and sets program budgets
May - June: Award notifications sent for loan/scholarships.
July - August: Loan/Scholarship recipients return Contracts, Rules and Regulations and Self-Certification Forms according to the deadline stated on each student's account
September: Institutions verify student enrollment for fall
September - December: Fall awards sent to institution. (NOTE: MOSFA must have complete student application and enrollment verification from institution before money can be requested for student. After money is requested, disbursement to institution may take up to 21 days during peak request times).
