BOARD OF TRUSTEES TO MEET NEXT WEEK

The Board of Trustees will hold its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, October 16, 2014, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Members of the Board may participate in the meeting via teleconference. The Board and public may attend the meeting on The University of Southern Mississippi Campus, Thad Cochran Center, Ballroom II, 121 West Memorial Drive, Hattiesburg, Miss. An Executive Session may be held in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.

The Academic Affairs Committee, a standing committee of the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning chaired by Trustee Ford Dye, will meet at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2014 in Room 216 of the Thad Cochran Center. Concurrently, there will be a joint meeting of the Finance Committee, a standing committee chaired by Trustee Alan Perry, and the Real Estate Committee, a standing committee chaired by Trustee Hal Parker, beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2014 in Room 218 of the Thad Cochran Center. The committees will meet to discuss issues related to the successes, needs and opportunities in each area at The University of Southern Mississippi.

The Health Affairs Committee, chaired by Trustee Aubrey Patterson, will meet at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, in Room 214 of the Thad Cochran Center to discuss projects and priorities including prospective real estate transactions and hospital records. Members of the Board may participate in the committee meetings via teleconference. An executive session may be held in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.

The Mississippi Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning governs the public universities in Mississippi, including Alcorn State University; Delta State University; Jackson State University; Mississippi State University including the Mississippi State University Division of Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine; Mississippi University for Women; Mississippi Valley State University; the University of Mississippi including the University of Mississippi Medical Center; and the University of Southern Mississippi.
