UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI PREFERRED CHANCELLOR CANDIDATE TO VISIT CAMPUS JUNE 15

6/10/2009 - Jackson, Miss.

Dr. Dan Jones, the Mississippi Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning's (IHL) preferred candidate for the next Chancellor of the University of Mississippi, will be on the University of Mississippi campus Monday, June 15, 2009, to participate in open interviews with various campus constituency groups. Participants will have an opportunity to provide written feedback to the Board. At the end of the day, as noted on the schedule below, the Board will meet to determine if Dr. Jones is the next Chancellor of the University of Mississippi, or if the search will continue.

All events will be held at The Inn at Ole Miss, Alumni Drive, University, MS, 38677, and are open to the media. All meetings scheduled in Ballrooms C and D will be webcast live. A link will be provided on the University of Mississippi home page: www.olemiss.edu.

The schedule is as follows:

8:00 - 8:50 a.m. Breakfast meeting with the Executive Management Council; McMillan Board Room

9:00 - 9:45 a.m. Meeting with deans, associate vice chancellors, associate deans, academic and non-academic department chairs, department heads and directors; Ballrooms C and D

9:45 - 10:30 a.m. Meeting with the Alumni Association Board of Directors; Ballrooms C and D

10:30 - 11:15 a.m. Meeting with the Faculty Senate and general faculty; Ballrooms C and D

11:15 - 11:30 p.m. BREAK

11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Lunch meeting with the University of Mississippi Foundation Board of Directors and the University of Mississippi Athletic Association Foundation Officers; Ballroom A

12:30 - 1:15 p.m. Meeting with the Staff Council and professional and support staff; Ballrooms C and D

1:15 - 2:00 p.m. Meeting with the University of Mississippi Medical Center faculty and staff via interactive video link; Ballrooms C and D (UMMC faculty and staff on the Jackson campus can participate via video from the auditorium in the Norman C. Nelson Student Union.)

2:00 - 2:45 p.m. Meeting with alumni, community leaders, and the general public; Ballrooms C and D

2:45 - 3:30 p.m. Meeting with undergraduate and graduate students; Ballrooms C and D

3:30 - 4:00 p.m. BREAK

4:00 p.m. *Teleconference Meeting of the Board of Trustees; McMillan Board Room
