Is a junior or senior student at a four year Mississippi college or university.
Enrolls in a program of study leading to a Class "A" teacher educator license.
Is a resident of Mississippi. Residency must be documented by submitting required residency documents.
Can verify the intention to pursue a first-baccalaureate degree in teacher education.
Can document that Praxis I has been passed or have a minimum composite score of 21 or higher
on the the ACT (national testing) with a minimum of 18 on all sub-scores on the same national test.
Agrees to employment immediately upon undergraduate degree completion as
a full-time classroom teacher in a public school in the State
of Mississippi.
Enrolls full-time in undergraduate course work (minimum 12 undergraduate
semester hours or 9 undergraduate trimester hours).
Has achieved a cumulative 2.5 grade point average on all college course
work previously taken.
Completes the online web application and
submits all support documents by the deadline.
Renewal and Continuing Eligibility Requirements: All continuing participants must:
Remain enrolled full-time (minimum 12 undergraduate
semester hours or 9 undergraduate trimester hours).
Exhibit satisfactory academic progress as established by the
institution throughout the normal time required to complete the
teacher education curriculum. For WWTS, the normal time required
will be determined by when the student began the teacher
education curriculum.
Achieve a minimum 2.5 grade point average each semester.
Successfully complete a minimum of 24 undergraduate credit hours each year.
Document that Praxis II has been passed after no more than
three semesters of WWTS participation.
Renew the application each year by completing the
online web application.
Remain in program of study leading to a Class "A" teacher educator license.
