The mission of the Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid is to provide all qualified college and college-bound students with state-funded financial assistance, with a focus on Mississippi residents. In keeping with this mission, we have created one, easy to complete, application to enable student to apply for all state-funded scholarships, grants or loans.

Under the governance of the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning, the Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid is responsible for the administration of all state-funded financial aid programs, including grants, scholarships and loans. These funds provide assistance to Mississippi residents in pursuit of their educational and professional goals.

Available to the student who:

Completes this on-line web application

Is a resident of Mississippi as verified by the submission of residency documentation.

Is seeking a first doctoral degree in science, science education, math, math education or engineering

Agrees to enter into full-time teaching employment in an accredited public college or university for a period of time equal to the length of study provided under the loan/scholarship award

Non-Mississippi residents are not eligible to apply.Renewal: All continuing participants must:

Meet the satisfactory academic standards set by the Southern Regional Education Board.

Renew the application each year by completing this on-line web application

Service commitment: Teaching service must be rendered in an accredited public college or university for a period of time equal to the length of study provided under the loan scholarship award.

Award Amount and Length of Eligibility: Up to $20,000 per year, not to exceed an aggregate of $60,000 or three years or the normal length of time needed to complete the doctoral degree program, whichever comes first.
