Mississippi Student Financial Aid

Our office is making a conscientious effort to complete our conversion to a paperless application process and your assistance is needed if we are to achieve this goal. You have been very cooperative in the past and we probably have not expressed our appreciation enough. We hope that the added options that are available for this academic year will provide more flexibility for the submission of high school grade information. Gear Up Mississippi high schools must use the below high school counselor GPA submission application. Other high schools please submit your 2008 seniors grades on a CD or diskette (see below for assistance with preparation of the electronic file). This submission should be based on a seven semester high school grade point average and must be mailed to our office no later than April 15th. If you are unable to produce an electronic data file for all your 2008 seniors then using our secure web form should allow you to submit high school grade information with minimum effort.

If you have not completed our participation agreement and request for personal identification number (PIN) for Adobe Acrobat version click here. If you would prefer the participation agreement and request for PIN as a Microsoft Word document click here. This PIN will prevent unauthorized access and ensure that the information is coming from an authorized high school counselor. Do not re-apply for a PIN unless there has been a change in Principal or Counselor as these PINs are assigned to specific persons at you school.

Instructions for high school counselor GPA submission using our secure web application are here.

This application is available for manual input of all your high school seniors information. It requires the high school official to type all the required information for each student. The secure on-line web form for High School GPA submission requires very little data entry, but it restricts the entry to students that have completed our web application. If you do not have a system capable of exporting the information (at least the demographic information) the on-line web form should be used for GPA submission. In this case please ask your students to notify you when they receive our request for their high school GPA. You would log on to the high school GPA submission form using you PIN and ACT code. Enter the student social security number as reflected on our letter requesting the GPA, select the 2005-2006 year and then click the Next button. If our request does not ask for ACT score then you need only enter the high school GPA on a 4.00 scale and check the Yes box certifying this information is correct. You click the Next button to submit the information.

Warning - When you click on the Submit Student Information button on the High School MTAG and MESG Submission screen, two files are copied to the blank diskette. These files are definfo.dbf and hsgpa.dbf from your local disk located in folder c:\hscert. If this copy is performed without an error the information in your hsgpa.dbf file is moved to the save subfolder within hscert folder. After the information has been successfully moved to the save subfolder the hsgpa.dbf is cleared to prepare for your next submission. Please do not click this button until you have verified the information and are ready to mailed the information to our office.

Please mail the CD or diskette that contains your seven semester high school grade point average to:
