The mission of the Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid is to provide all qualified college and college-bound students with state-funded financial assistance, with a focus on Mississippi residents. In keeping with this mission, we have created one, easy to complete, application to enable student to apply for all state-funded scholarships, grants or loans.

Under the governance of the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning, the Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid is responsible for the administration of all state-funded financial aid programs, including grants, scholarships and loans. These funds provide assistance to Mississippi residents in pursuit of their educational and professional goals.

Application Deadline: March 31st

Available to the student who:

dark blue box Completes this on-line web application

dark blue box Has been fully admitted into an approved out-of-state school for the study of chiropractic medicine, orthotics/prosthetics or podiatric medicine

dark blue box Is a resident of Mississippi as verified by the submission of residency documentation.

dark blue box Agrees to specialize in chiropractic medicine or orthotics/prosthetics or podiatric medicine

dark blue box Agrees to practice the approved medical specialty in the state of Mississippi immediately upon degree completion

Renewal: All continuing participants must:

dark blue box Meet the satisfactory academic progress standards of the institution throughout the normal time required to complete the approved degree curriculum.

dark blue box Renew the application each year by completing this On-line web application

Service commitment: The loan to service obligation must be rendered in Mississippi for a period of, not less than, one year's service for one year of scholarship received. Service is defined as the practice of medicine (patient care) in the specialty area for which the scholarship was received.

Award Amount and Length of Eligibility: An average of $7,000 annually for the normal time required to complete the degree curriculum.
