The mission of the Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid is to provide all qualified college and college-bound students with state-funded financial assistance, with a focus on Mississippi residents. In keeping with this mission, we have created one, easy to complete, application to enable student to apply for all state-funded scholarships, grants or loans.

Under the governance of the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning, the Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid is responsible for the administration of all state-funded financial aid programs, including grants, scholarships and loans. These funds provide assistance to Mississippi residents in pursuit of their educational and professional goals.

The following are required from all CNTP applicants:

  • Passing Praxis I scores or ACT score (national testing) of 21 or higher with a minimum of 18 on all sub-scores on the same national test. Praxis I scores may be submitted after the deadline, but must be received by July 31st.

  • Participation in Entrance Counseling (both first time and renewals).

  • If requested, applicants must also be able to document their enrollment into a program of study leading to a Class 'A' teacher educator license.

  • First time applicants must have their CNTP contract completed, signed, notarized and returned via mail to the Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid, 3825 Ridgewood Road, Jackson, MS 39211-6453. The Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid notifies recipient via mail when their contract is available for download and printing. Applicants are encourage to reqularly check status of their existing web application.

  • The Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid notifies recipient via mail when their Rules and Regulations document is available for download and printing. Sign, initial and return a copy of all pages of the CNTP Rules and Regulations.
