The mission of the Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid is to provide all qualified college and college-bound students with state-funded financial assistance, with a focus on Mississippi residents. In keeping with this mission, we have created one, easy to complete, application to enable student to apply for all state-funded scholarships, grants or loans.

Under the governance of the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning, the Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid is responsible for the administration of all state-funded financial aid programs, including grants, scholarships and loans. These funds provide assistance to Mississippi residents in pursuit of their educational and professional goals.

Summer Developmental Program Grant (SDPG). Funds are now available for high school graduates attending the Mississippi Summer Developmental Program.

Application Deadline: July 21st

Available to the student who meet these general requirements:

dark blue box Meets all eligibility requirements by the designated deadline date

dark blue box Is a resident of Mississippi for one year prior to enrollment in college and provides SDPG supporting documents.

dark blue box Must be under 21 years of age as of deadline date.

dark blue box Must have attempted less than 24 college hours.

dark blue box Be accepted as a first time attendee of the Summer Developmental Program at an eligible Mississippi institution.

dark blue box Not be in default on a federal or state educational loan or owe a repayment on a federal or state grant.

dark blue box Meet general eligibility admission requirements into the Mississippi Summer Developmental Program and be eligible to receive student financial aid.

dark blue box Completes the online web application and has all supporting documents on file with the Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid.

dark blue box Completes the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The results of the FAFSA must be received by July 31st. The applicant is encouraged to complete both the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 FAFSA.

dark blue box Demonstrates financial need after all other grant/gift aid is awarded.

Award Amount and Length of Eligibility: SDPG awards may be up to remaining financial aid need as determined by your institution.
