The mission of the Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid is to provide all qualified college and college-bound students with state-funded financial assistance, with a focus on Mississippi residents. In keeping with this mission, we have created one, easy to complete, application to enable student to apply for all state-funded scholarships, grants or loans.
Under the governance of the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning, the Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid is responsible for the administration of all state-funded financial aid programs, including grants, scholarships and loans. These funds provide assistance to Mississippi residents in pursuit of their educational and professional goals. |

Core Curriculum Requirements for the Higher Education Legislative
Plan (HELP). The core curriculum requirements listed below should
not be considered as the only requirements for participation in this program.
Additional information will be provided with the application.
Core Curriculum is defined in Mississippi Code §37-157-1 (1) (d)
as follows:

English I, II, III and IV (four [4] units ).

Algebra I and II (two [2] units).
-
Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus or comparable Advanced Mathematics
(one [1] unit).

Biology (one [1] unit).
-
Chemistry (one [1] unit).
-
Earth Science, Environmental Science, Physical Science, Biology II,
Chemistry II or Physics (one [1] unit).
-
American History (one [1] unit).
-
World History, World Cultures, Western Civilization or World Geography
(one [1] unit).
-
Civics and/or Economics (one [1] unit).
-
Fine Arts Survey (one [1] unit); or substitute two (2) units of performance
courses in music, dance or theater; or substitute two (2) units of studio
art courses.

Foreign Language (two [2] units in a single language).
-
Computer Science, Computer Literacy or Data Processing (one-half [½]
unit).

Electives from the above (one [1] unit).
