Dr. Davidson was appointed to the Board by Governor Ronnie Musgrove in May 2000 to represent the former Third Congressional District for a term to expire May 7, 2012.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Mississippi and earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He served an internship at the Baylor School of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and completed residency training in ophthalmology at Tulane University in New Orleans and at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
An ophthalmologist, Dr. Davidson has practiced medicine since 1960. He holds professional memberships in the Delta Medical Society, the Mississippi Medical Association, American Medical Association and is a Diplomat of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He serves on the Regional Board of Directors of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and has worked with the local Boy Scouts of America organization.
Dr. Davidson is married to the former Fay Spruill and has two sons, John Stacy and Friley, and four grandchildren, Brantley, Samuel, Caroline, and Andrew. The Davidsons are active members of the First United Methodist Church in Cleveland.
